Gold amulet pendant

Gold phallic amulet depicting testicles on the lower central part and a fig on the right tip. The association of the two genitalia, male and female, was one of the most effective weapons against spells and evil eye. Gold also has apotropaic properties, being a protector in itself. It comes from the Las Amoladeras wreck, from which lead items were also recovered, such as rivets and projectiles, together with some pottery fragments that enable it to be dated in the 1st century B. C.
