The Fishing Port in Shen Jiamen

The Fishing Port in Shen Jiamen (沈家门渔港) was created in 1962. After the foundation of the People’s Republic of China , the artist Pan Sitong broke the limitation in themes of watercolor , and paid attention to workers and their workplaces such as factories, mines, fishing ports and harbor, in order to present a image of thriving nation. Watercolor of these themes were highly praised in national art exhibition at that time. And The Fishing Port in Shen Jiamen is one of those representative works.
