Thebes: A Global Civil War

Pantelis Flatsousis presented Thebes: A Global Civil War, a documentary-inspired performance exploring the lingering wounds of civil conflict through the lens of Aeschylus’ Seven Against Thebes. Four actors from Bosnia , Greece , the Democratic Republic of the Congo , and Lebanon shared personal narratives of war, blending historical fact with theatrical storytelling. Staged at the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus , the production examined memory, identity, and humanity’s enduring entanglement with violence, turning ancient myth into a powerful reflection on modern global struggles.
