Cambridge University Herbarium is home to a collection of over 1.1 million pressed, dried and mounted plants. With specimens dating from as early as 1703, the University Herbarium holds several historically important collections, including the plants gathered by Charles Darwin on the voyage of HMS Beagle in the early 1830s. Students, scientists and historians continue to use this unique collection for research and through the Herbarium's digitisation program, we are working expand access to this extraordinary collection of plants.
