What happened to all my saved URL shortcuts?!?!

I've loved this chrome extension for years, but since the latest chrome update all my URL shortcuts and custom notes have disappeared. Also the "Restore from Automatic Backup" is no longer showing ... is that no longer an option??? The last time I downloaded my .json files was MONTHS ago, so I'm screwed if "restore from Automatic Backup" wasn't working! I'm frustrated and disappointed to find so many people expressing the same concern ... and no response from the developer.

Сбрасываются настройки по умолчанию

Проблема была в backup.js:166-167 — устаревший код MV2 вызывал ошибку при импорте:

var bg = chrome.extension.getBackgroundPage();
bg.location.reload();

Решение: Заменено на chrome.runtime.reload() — правильный способ перезагрузки расширения в Manifest V3.

После импорта бэкапа расширение теперь корректно перезагружается, service worker перезапускается и загружает пользовательские иконки (user_app_ids, icons_order, user_app_{id}) из восстановленного localStorage.

Keep losing custom settings

As many others are reporting, Chrome version 147.0.7727.56 / Home - New Tab Page version 24.12.10.1 is no longer retaining a Users custom settings. There is no retention of a Users customised URL shortcuts, a Users customed background image or a Users customed 'Appearance' options. I have restored both my settings and background image multiple times on both my PC and laptop only to find that the settings are immediately lost - replaced by the default set-up.

This is infuriating.

my home page got deleted more than once, not only did they backup didnt work

i would love to get my home page back i try more than once to get it back, also try to re-do it and still went back to the black page and did not save any of the copies or backups

Keep losing custom settings

I have given up on resetting my custom settings because it keeps reverting back to generic setting. I love this app and have been using it for years--not so in love with it any more. Will this be fixed?

getting back to default interface after relaunching chrome

Please, does anyone figure out the way to fix this problem? It is really annoying because I have to keep importing the backup all over again and again.

You should let your users know if you have no intention of fixing this problem. Tell us so we can move on with our lives, one way or another.
