"Alternative Back Button" doesn't seem to work anymore

When opening a link in the same tab, clicking the back button works, when opening a link in a new tab, clicking on the back button doesn't do anything. chromium 142, KE v.0.0.0.48

Thx for the great extension! We use it with our open source project in community centers.

Can't save Extra Button (Add a New Button)

I think I might’ve encountered a new bug with the “Extra Buttons” feature with the latest update.

I can click “Add a New Button” and start setting it up, but when I try to hit the checkmark button to confirm it, nothing happens. It doesn’t save and there’s no error or feedback. I end up having to refresh the page, which wipes everything I entered so I can't add the extra button to the settings I'm working on.

It worked when was previewing and prototyping a kiosk configuration earlier last week for some clients while on the road, but then later in the week I ran into that bug (confirmed today it still seems stuck) - so not sure if it could have been inadvertently introduced with the last version.

Not able to "Add" Allow / Deny List URLs

I'm attempting to add one or more URLs for the Allow/Deny List page and it doesn't appear that I'm able to confirm or save. When I type a URL I'd like to add (e.g., website.co/*) in the available line, the "+" button stays disabled, isn't clickable and the UI doesn't give me feedback that the URL is "added" or confirmed. I don't know if I'm supposed to type multiple URLs in the same line separated by a comma or other separator.

Also when trying the Edit as text alternative URL adding option... should I be entering new URLs on new lines (use return / enter key) or separated by a symbol? Either way, when I exit Edit as text window it doesn't appear in the main screen that those URLs have been confirmed or accepted.

I noticed some blocking behavior taking place... so this could be user error, but I tried a few times it was a bit less clear if I was successfully adding of multiple URLs because the UI feedback doesn't appear as obvious as other settings options.

Password bypass

I am not sure if I potentially misconfigured something, but clicking escape on the enter password screen seems to entirely bypass the password to change kiosk settings. I could email a video if requested which shows me booting up kiosk mode, ctrl+shift+a, enter the wrong password to show password is set, escape key to bypass the password screen, change setting, reboot, and show settings saved without password.

Switching between already open tabs.

How to I load json settings file grammatically on Linuix

Google Admin Console

Hi there,
I am also trying to implement this extensions to OPAC kiosks at a public library.

I have been running some tests with Chat GPT (since I am not super in-the-know on these things) and found that when I go to chrome://policy, the policies for this extension that I have set do show up on the list, but they are not actively being implemented. I did notice chrome policy names follow capitalization while the extension policy names are all lower case. Example: the home navigation button policy name is listed for the extension as homenavbutton, but if it were a chrome policy it would be HomeNavButton. Not sure if this matters?

Chat GPT told me to ask if the extension supports for Chrome Enterprise policies(chrome.storage.managed) and not just local JSON.

I could be way off, but am just trying to see if I can make this work for our needs. I am willing to further troubleshoot.

Added Extension through Google Admin

Hello,

First of all, thank you very much for creating this extension—it has been extremely helpful. We currently have about 10 library kiosk machines (Chromeboxes) that will be utilizing it. I was able to install the extension through our Google Admin Console by navigating to Apps & Extensions → Kiosk → Extension. After doing so, I can see the "Go Back" button in the upper left-hand corner, but I have not been able to determine how to enable or modify the other available features.

Since local sign-ins are disabled and the guest mode has been removed, I am unable to access or configure the extension directly on the Chromebox itself. When the device powers on, it automatically launches into Kiosk mode, so I am not sure how to reach the settings locally. I also have not been able to find a way to access or adjust these settings within the Google Admin Console.

Would you be able to provide any guidance on how to access the controls or make changes to the configuration?
