I’ve been using Line Highlighter for a bit now, and it’s one of those extensions you don’t realize you need until you try it. It’s simple, works perfectly, and makes reading long articles so much easier. The rebuild feels smoother, customizable shortcuts are a great touch, and I love that it’s totally privacy-focused. Highly recommend for anyone who reads a lot online.

This worked perfectly for my use case, and I am glad I found it! Looks like it's been receiving a lot of recent updates as well, so cannot wait to find out what comes next.

the ctrl + e command opens the search bar in google chrome, so I can't activate the extension.
Hi Paloma! You can now customize the keyboard shortcut by visiting your Chrome extension settings: chrome://extensions/shortcuts or clicking on the extension icon. The default on windows has also been changed to alt+l. I hope that helps! Appreciate the feedback and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions

I thought I finally found the extension I was looking for or at least close to it. But it doesn't work all that well. First of all, there is no way of knowing if the extension is turned on or off. The icon always stays the same whether you click on it or not, not that clicking it does anything. Worse than that every time I load a new page I have to turn it on all over with the ctrl + e function. By the way originally I was looking for something to make scrolling trough lists easier to keep t... Show more
Thanks for the feedback! I've added a visual indicator to the extension icon to show whether the extension is activated. You can also now click on the extension icon which also displays this information. The idea to enable the extension across websites is an interesting one -- do you feel you'd need that now that there's a visual indicator on the icon?

Sorry for such a low rating, but I just can't get it to work. I was excited to start using this extension, but the documentation is really short and not clear. There's nothing to troubleshoot besides the key combo. I'm running macOS and I can't tell if it's supposed to be (no quotes): "cmd ctrl / + e" or "cmd e" or "ctrl e" or "ctrl + e" or "cmd + e" or "cmd cntrl e" or what. I've tried all combinations of the key symbols listed multiple times and they never worked. There's got to be relativ... Show more
Hi Cody! The extension has been completely rebuilt from the ground up, and you can now customize the keyboard shortcut to anything you'd like by visiting your Chrome extension settings: chrome://extensions/shortcuts. The default on mac is cmd+e (just press those two keys at the same time and nothing else), and alt+l on windows. Once you toggle the highlighter on, click on text anywhere on the page to show the highlighter. I hope that helps! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions or feedback
