After installing this extension the browser tried to connect to random domains. I only had Scriptcat and ViolentMonkey tabs open to export/import the scripts, so it couldn't have been anything else. Here are some of the domains: survey-smiles.com, fc-lc.xyz, fir3.net, cloudgallery.net, blackwidof.org, a2zapk.io, q.gs, urlcash.net, goneviral.com, imgbar.net, imgcandy.net. Clearly this extension is trying to open or inject random ad sites (if not malicious code).

Thank you for your report. These connections are caused by ScriptCat's **favicon loading feature** — when you open the script management page, it automatically fetches website favicons (site icons) based on the `@match`/`@include` domains defined in your installed userscripts' metadata, so that each script displays the icon of the websites it runs on. The domains you listed (survey-smiles.com, fc-lc.xyz, fir3.net, etc.) are most likely the `@match` domains from scripts you imported from ViolentMonkey. ScriptCat fetches `https://{domain}/` and looks for `<link rel="icon">` tags to display favicons in the script list — it does **not** inject ads or execute any malicious code. ScriptCat is fully **open source** — you can audit the entire codebase yourself: - Favicon fetching logic: [src/pages/store/favicons.ts](https://github.com/scriptscat/scriptcat/tree/main/src/pages/store/favicons.ts) The next version will introduce an icon service (optional ScriptCat/Google) to optimize this issue.

Not only is it good, but it has this unique feature: VSCode integration. I just install the scriptcat-vscode extension from the VSCode marketplace, and whenever I edit and save my userscript in VSCode, boom—it's instantly on ScriptCat. No more manually copy-pasting my userscript every single time. It's hard to go back to other userscript manager that lacks this feature, especially in 2026.

The script editor is ridiculously nearly impossible to use on a mobile phone that is the only complaint and it is a deal breaker unfortunately. Also script cat says developer mode needs to be enabled to run scripts and yet it is already enabled and therefore it doesn't work

So far, so good. I switched to ScriptCat from Violetmonkey around a week ago. At first, I could not import all my userscripts until I added @version, but in the next version they won't require you to have @version in your userscript header. All of my userscripts worked well, just like I wanted, unlike Tampermonkey which never worked for me. It took me a few days to familiarize myself with a few things that were not immediately apparent, but I learned that there are some things that I can do i... Show more

A script manager developed in China that supports backend scripts and timed scripts. This is a function that tampering monkeys do not possess. This extension has a beautiful interface. Hope for continuous updates.

After ViolentMonkey's demise of Manifest v2, ScriptCat looks promising but fails to deliver even close performance or UI features. If you check their site (mostly Chinese), you'll see even it advertises itself to be a TamperMonkey clone. TamperMonkey is literally the oldest script manager there's so I'd rather switch back to it instead of switching into this unknown extension. I recently checked my extension collection and saw lots of extensions either being banned or removed due to their pra... Show more

Thank you for your feedback. I'm not sure what led you to abandon ScriptCat, but we're actively updating and improving it. Our documentation is available in English, and ScriptCat is not, and does not claim to be, a TamerMonkey clone. ScriptCat has over 1 million users on Edge, and its open-source repository has over 3,000 stars on GitHub. Perhaps because we haven't paid enough attention to non-Chinese users before, the number of Chrome users is pitifully small.

I have scripts that auto-fill forms and check prices. ScriptCat runs them in the background without needing a tab open perfect.
