Verifying Winning Bid Source

I'm working with the IMA SDK and Prebid.js to target specific line items based on winning bid data ( hb_pb, hb_bidder, etc. ). After the VAST response is received, I need to reliably determine if the winning ad was from the Prebid auction or from a different source. While the ad object provides fields like adSystem and adId , I'm concerned that these aren't consistently structured across all PBJS bidders, which makes it unreliable for matching. Do you have a recommended method for programmatically and consistently identifying the winning bidder from the Prebid auction after the VAST has been served?

At this time, there isn't a standardized or officially supported method within the IMA SDK or Prebid.js to programmatically and consistently identify the winning bidder from the Prebid auction after the VAST response has been served.

Hi,

Thanks for considering this. In the meantime, could you suggest or point me to the appropriate Google documentation on how to properly build and manually fetch a GAM URL without using the IMA SDK? My idea is that this way, we could manually inspect the VAST and determine the winning ad ourselves. I understand this might be outside the scope of IMA SDK support, but I'd appreciate any best practice or documentation you could share so we can approach this correctly.

Hi,

It would be helpful if the bidder name were included in the VAST response and accessible through the IMA SDK. Currently, the only way I can identify the Prebid bid is via the UUID parameter in the Prebid cache URL within the VASTAdTagURI element. If there's a way to extract this information directly from IMA SDK, it would help me to identify the winning bid.

Hi,

Thanks again for addressing this. I'm looking forward to this feature being implemented. While I used PBJS as an example, it would be great if the solution is agnostic and work with other sources too, like Amazon.
