This privacy policy describes what data QuizSolver AI collects, why, how it is stored, and how it is shared. Please read it carefully. By using this extension you accept this policy.

1. Overview

QuizSolver AI is a Chrome extension that uses AI platforms (such as OpenAI/ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, and Venice AI) to help users solve quizzes. To function, the extension requires users to provide API keys for those platforms. All data handled by the extension is stored exclusively on the user's own device via Chrome's local storage. No remote servers, databases, or third-party services operated by QuizSolver AI are used to collect, process, or transmit any user data.

2. Data collected and purpose

The extension collects and stores only the following data, solely to provide its core functionality:

•       API Keys — The API keys you enter for AI platforms (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, Venice AI). These are required to authenticate your requests to those platforms. They are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to QuizSolver AI's servers (which do not exist).

•       User preferences and settings — Any configuration options you choose within the extension (e.g., selected AI model, UI preferences). Stored locally for convenience.

We do not collect names, email addresses, browsing history, quiz content, AI responses, or any other personal or behavioral data.

3. How data is stored

All data is stored locally on your device using the Chrome extension storage API (chrome.storage.local). It never leaves your device through QuizSolver AI's systems.

•       Data is stored only on the device where the extension is installed.

•       No cloud backup, synchronization, or remote storage is performed by this extension.

•       You can delete all locally stored data at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage from Chrome's extension settings.

4. How data is shared

QuizSolver AI does not share your data with anyone. The only data transmission that occurs is the following:

•       When you use the extension, your API key and the relevant quiz content are sent directly from your browser to the AI platform you configured (e.g., OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Venice). This transmission goes directly to that platform and is subject to their respective privacy policies.

•       QuizSolver AI does not intercept, log, or store these requests or responses on any server.

•       We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer any data to any third party.

5. Third-party AI platforms

When you configure and use an API key, requests are sent directly to the respective AI provider. Their data handling is governed solely by their own privacy policies:

6. Advertising

Advertisements that may appear on our website are served by third-party advertising partners such as Google AdSense. These partners may independently use cookies or tracking technologies governed by their own privacy policies. QuizSolver AI does not control or have access to data these advertisers may collect. Google's use of the DART cookie allows it to serve ads based on your visits to our site and other sites without tracking personally identifiable information. You may opt out of DART cookie usage at:

7. Cookies

The extension itself does not use cookies. Our website may be subject to cookies placed by third-party advertising partners as described in Section 6.

8. Security

API keys are sensitive credentials. We store them using Chrome's local storage, which means they are confined to your device and accessible only by this extension. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system up to date to benefit from Chrome's built-in security protections. You should never share your API keys with anyone, and you can revoke or rotate them at any time from the respective AI platform's dashboard.

9. Children's privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our no-remote-collection policy means no child's information is ever transmitted to or stored on our systems. We comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

10. User rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times:

•       You can view all stored data by inspecting the extension's local storage via Chrome DevTools.

•       You can delete all data by removing the extension from Chrome (chrome://extensions) or by clearing its storage from the extension's settings panel.

•       No account deletion request is needed because no account or remote profile exists.

11. Changes to this policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this document and posting a notice on the extension's main page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
