AI usage limits reset on a daily or monthly cadence, depending on the feature. Your usage limits can't be shared with other people, and they don't roll over to the next month.
How does my use of AI features affect usage limits?
There are several types of actions that count against your usage limits. Examples include:
- You ask AI to do work for you. This happens when you do things like:
- Use Flow or Vids to generate videos.
- Use Nano Banana to generate images in Slides or Docs.
- Use the AI function in Google Sheets.
- Generate audio overviews in Gemini, NotebookLM, and Drive.
- You use Workspace Studio to create and run flows.
Let your administrator know if you've exceeded your usage limit.

Ask your Workspace administrator to purchase an AI add-on that increases your limits:
- Most Workspace accounts:access varies and depends on how your administrator set up your account.
- AI Expanded Access add-on :gives you higher access to AI features.
- AI Ultra Access add-on :gives you the highest access to AI features.

Suggestions that you ignore don't affect your usage limit. When you accept a suggestion, such as enhanced Smart Fill suggestions in Sheets, it counts towards your usage limit.
What happens when I reach my monthly limit in Gemini for Google Workspace?
You are warned when you approach your limit. After you reach the limit, Gemini for Google Workspace:
- stops accepting your prompts
- stops making proactive suggestions

Your use of Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet is subject to a monthly usage limit. You can use these features 500 times per month. This usage limit can't be shared with other people, and it doesn't roll over to the next month.

How does my use of Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet affect my monthly limit?
There are 2 types of actions that count against your usage limits:

- You accept a suggestion from Gemini.When Gemini detects an opportunity to help you get work done, it makes suggestions that you can choose to accept or ignore. Suggestions that you ignore don't affect your usage limit. When you accept Gemini's suggestion, it counts towards your usage limit.
What happens when I reach my monthly limit in Gemini?
You are warned when you approach your limit. After you reach the limit, Gemini:
- stops accepting your prompts
- stops making proactive suggestions
When your monthly limit is refreshed at the beginning of the month, you can start using Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet again.
- You can use Gemini in Google Vids 50 times per month.
- You can’t share the usage limit with other people.
- Your usage limit resets on the first day of each month.
- Any unused usage doesn't roll over to the next month.

- You submit a prompt in Vids.
- You ask Gemini in Vids to do work for you. For example, you use Help me create or Veo.
- You accept a suggestion from Gemini in a Google service or app. When Gemini detects an opportunity to help you get work done, it makes suggestions that you can choose to accept or ignore. Suggestions that you ignore don't affect your usage limit. When you accept a suggestion, such as an enhanced Smart Fill suggestion in Google Sheets, it counts toward your usage limit.

You’re warned when you approach your limit. After you reach the limit, the AI features in Vids:
- Stop accepting your prompts.
- Stop making proactive suggestions.
