What happens if you violate third-party policies

Google provides translated versions of the Advertising Policies Help Center, though they're not meant to change the content of the policies. The English version is the official language used to enforce Google Ads policies. To view this article in a different language, use the language dropdown at the bottom of the page.

Accountability is a core principle of Google advertising. Third parties who purchase and manage advertising on their clients’ behalf have a valuable role in maintaining a healthy ads ecosystem. When advertisers work with a third-party partner, they should have the same high-quality experience as they would when working directly with Google. You should be honest and transparent about your company, services, associated costs, and expected results.

Compliance review

Google may review your business for compliance with third-party policy at any time. If you’re contacted to request information related to compliance, you're required to respond in a timely manner and take any corrective action needed to comply with our policies as soon as possible. Google may also contact your customers to verify compliance.

Notification of non-compliance

If you’re found to be violating third-party policies, Google will usually contact you to request corrective action within a certain time period. If you don’t fulfill this request within the time period, you may be subject to enforcement action. You’ll be notified about the enforcement actions for continued non-compliance.

Google may take immediate action without notification in the case of serious or repeated violations.

Enforcement and Penalties

Loss of Privileges

Your access to specific features and privileges like Terms billing, API token use, eligibility to create accounts, and the option to use bulk verification may be revoked immediately.

Third-party program suspension

Your participation in Google third-party programs like Google Partners requires your compliance with third-party policy. Your eligibility to participate in these programs may be limited or suspended if you violate these policies or if you fail to cooperate with efforts to review your business for compliance.

Advertising account suspension

Google may suspend your advertising accounts if you enable significant or sustained policy violations. In cases of repeated or especially serious policy violations, your Google advertising accounts and manager accounts may be permanently suspended and you may no longer be able to advertise. Google may contact your customers to notify them accordingly.
