Troubleshooting Business Profile Ownership

To request ownership of a storefront or hybrid business from the current Business Profile owner:

1. Go to business.google.com/add .
2. Enter the name and address of your business.
3. Choose your business from the list.
   • You'll get a message that says “Someone else may manage this Business Profile.”
4. Select Request Access.
   • If you're authorized to manage the business, you can request ownership from the current profile owner.
5. Fill out the form.
6. Select Submit.

Tips:

• To request ownership of a service-area business that provides services at the customer's location and doesn’t have a physical shop or office, contact us .
  • In the "Tell us what we can help with" field, enter Transfer ownership of listing .
  • When you submit your request, select Transfer ownership of listingas the issue description.

What happens after you request ownership

After you request ownership, you’ll get an email confirmation. The current profile owner is then notified by email and has 3 days to respond. To check the status of your request, sign in to your Business Profile or select the link in your confirmation email.

If your request is:

• Approved:You'll get an approval email and can now manage the Business Profile.
  • Learn how to manage your business information
  • Learn about limits for new profile owners & managers
• Denied:You'll get a rejection email but you can still suggest an edit to the profile . You can also try to appeal the decision.

If you don’t get a response after 3 days, you may have the option to claim the profile. To claim a Business Profile:

1. Open the confirmation email you got about your ownership request.
2. Select View request Verify.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your business.
   • You can sign in to your Business Profile and look for a “Claim” or “Verify” button.

Tip:The option to claim a profile isn’t always available.
