Important:If your calendar is for your work or school, your administrator decides if you can share it. If you can't share a calendar, learn how to contact your administrator .
In Google Calendar, you can share any calendar you own or one you have permission to share. When you share your calendar with someone:
- You can control what they can find and do on your calendar.
- They get an email. To find your calendar, they need to click the link in the email.
- You can stop sharing your calendar whenever you want.
Share your calendar with people or groups
Important:If you want to share a calendar that someone else owns, that person must give you the “Make changes and manage sharing” permission.
Step 1: Find the calendar you want to share
- On your computer, open Google Calendar .
- On the left side of Calendar, click My calendars.
Step 2: Choose who to share your calendar with
- To the right of the calendar, click More
Settings and sharing.
- On the left, click Shared with.
- Under “Shared with,” click Add people and groups.
- Add the email address of the person or Google group.
Step 3: Choose what people can do with your calendar
Decide how much access you want to give to other people:
- See only free/busy (hide details):People can only find out when you're busy. They can’t find out event names or details.
- See all event details:People can find all the details, like event names, times, places, and descriptions.
- If you set an event as “Private,” they can’t find its details.
- If the “See guest list” permission isn't on, they can’t find who else is invited.
- Make changes to events:People can edit events on your calendar and find who else it’s shared with.
- Make changes and manage sharing:People have full control of events on your calendar. They can:
- Add new events.
- Change or delete events.
- Change who the calendar is shared with.

Step 4: Send the calendar invite
To give others access, click Send.
The people you share your calendar with get an email. To add your calendar, they must click the link in the email.
If they can’t find the email:
- Make sure you have the correct email address.
- Ask the person to check their spam or trash mail folder.
- Ask the person to search for your email.
- Take them off the sharing list, then add them again.
Let everyone find your calendar
You can share your calendar with:

Anyone or the public
- People in your work, school, or other organization
When you make your calendar public, people can:
- Find your calendar on the internet or in search results.
- Use your calendar with other apps.
- Subscribe to your calendar and check it in Google Calendar.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar .
- On the left, find the “My calendars” section.
- If you can’t find all your calendars, click My calendars.
- To the right of the calendar, click More
Settings and sharing.
- On the left, click Access permissions for events.
- Under “Access permissions for events,” select Make available to public.
- Next to a setting, in the drop-down, select the access level.
Important:Your administrator can have special permissions that allow them to find your calendar and all event details, even if you don't share your calendar. To learn more, check with your administrator .
If you use Calendar for your work or school, you can let everyone in your organization find your calendar. When you do this:
- People in your organization can find and subscribe to your calendar.
- People outside your organization can’t find your calendar.
- If you invite someone outside your organization to a meeting, they can still find info about that meeting.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar .
- On the left, find the “My calendars” section.
- If you can’t find all your calendars, click My calendars.
- To the right of the calendar, click More
Settings and sharing.
- On the left, click Access permissions for events.
- Under “Access permissions for events,” select Make available for {company name}.
- Next to a setting, in the drop-down, select the access level.
Stop sharing your calendar
- On your computer, open Google Calendar .
- On the left, find the “My calendars” section.
- If you can’t find all your calendars, click My calendars.
- To the right of the calendar, click More
Settings and sharing.
- Turn off share settings for the calendar.
- For public sharing:Under “Access permissions for events,” turn off Make available to public.
- For work or school sharing:Under “Access permissions for events,” turn off Make available for {company name}.
- For specific people or groups:Under “Shared with,” next to the name of the person or group you want to stop sharing access with, click Remove
