Cancel Google Fi device protection

Device protection is no longer available for purchase on Pixel devices through Google Fi, including Pixel devices purchased as a phone subscription. This change doesn't affect third-party devices, for which device protection remains available. All current device protection plans for Pixel devices remain unchanged.

Cancel coverage

If you no longer need device protection, you can discontinue your device's enrollment at any time:

  1. On the Google Fi website, go to Your plan .
  2. Select the device that you would like to discontinue enrollment for.
  3. Under "Device protection," select Discontinue. On the next screen, select Discontinueagain.
  • If you're part of a Google Fi group plan , only the group plan owner or device protection account holder can request cancellation of coverage.
  • If you cancel device protection within 30 days of enrollment, you receive a full refund. This is for any prepaid days of coverage remaining in the cycle, minus the cost of any claims paid or repairs made.
  • This is a monthly renewable plan that must be paid on a monthly basis, or coverage will be canceled for nonpayment.
  • We will not cancel coverage for nonpayment without providing you with the opportunity to pay within the applicable notice period.
  • Keep in mind that once you cancel Device Protection, you won't be able to enroll again.
Returned device
If you return your device to Google Fi within 15 days of buying it, Google Fi automatically discontinues your enrollment in device protection. You receive a full refund, minus the cost of any claims paid or repairs made.
Understand loss & theft claim limit cancellation
Your Google Fi device protection plan is canceled automatically once you reach the maximum claim limit. The limit is 2 approved loss, theft, or physical damage claims within any rolling 12-month period. After this point, you’re no longer enrolled in this program or charged for coverage.
Learn about our device protection provider

To offer device protection, Google Fi partnered with Asurion. When you enroll a device in device protection, Asurion receives information about your device, your email address, and your service address.

Tip:For most users, if your device is shipped before July 14, 2025, your device protection provider is Assurant. To check your active device protection enrollments and your device protection provider, go to the Google Fi appFi.
