How to fix: Pending initial data quality review

Wait for Google to review your account for vehicles ads

On this page

Why this issue is happening

An initial data quality review hasn’t been conducted for your account or you haven’t yet passed the initial data quality review also called as “website policy review”. In order for your vehicle ads to begin serving, Google must verify that the data submitted in your vehicle data source aligns precisely with the corresponding information displayed on your vehicle description pages. This ensures data consistency and accurate ad delivery.

Note: After you sign up for vehicle ads, the review process can take up to 3-5 business days from when the data source is uploaded. Allow 5 business days for the review to complete, before you contact the support team.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for Vehicle ads, your website must meet the following requirements:

  • Display dealership name, dealership location, vehicle price, MSRP (if listing a new vehicle), VIN, mileage (if listing a used vehicle), and availability information on the landing page.
    • Make sure the information (including dealership name, dealership location, vehicle price, VIN, and availability) is clearly visible upon loading the page without requiring the user to scroll.
    • When you first open the page, the dealership name and city can represent the dealership location if the full dealership address isn't present. In this case, the full dealership address should be displayed when the user clicks to view dealership location details.
    • In some countries, VIN [vin] is optional. You should submit ID [id] as an alternative identifier. The ID must also appear on the vehicle’s landing page.
  • Display your vehicle availability prominently. Availability that reports the vehicle as “sold”, “out of stock”, “reserved”, “unavailable”, or “incoming unit” aren’t permitted.
  • Display your vehicle price. The price displayed on your landing page should match the price submitted in your primary data source for the selected dealership location.
    • You may provide the option to “Check today’s price”.
    • Any disclaimers about the vehicle MSRP price must be clearly displayed on the landing page.
  • Be able to display a landing page based on the store codes from your Business Profile or store data source to populate location-specific pricing and availability. Vehicles included in your primary data source are expected to be listed as available on your vehicle landing page.
  • Meet all local requirements around new or used vehicle disclosures on the landing page. Learn more about Local legal requirements and safety standards .
  • (If listing a used vehicle) Display the vehicle mileage prominently on the landing page. Ensure mileage matches the mileage [mileage] attribute in your primary data source.

How to fix your issue

  1. Check for missing information: Ensure all required business information, such as your business address, is complete and accurate in your Merchant Center settings. Missing details can cause delays or "Limited" status.
  2. Verify website and technical settings:
    • Confirm that all product landing pages are active and that the link template works properly without leading to 404 Page Not Found errors. Correct any broken links immediately.
  3. Check for diagnostic errors:
    • Navigate to Products > Needs Attention (ensure that you filter for Marketing methods > Vehicle ads).
    • If your account has any attribute level diagnostic errors, work to correct these before submitting a review request.
  4. Submit a request for review: Use the vehicle ads troubleshooting form . In the Summary of Issue section, enter "My account is ready for initial data quality review." If you recently fixed website issues such as 404 errors, request a website check through your Merchant Center account to prompt a re-review.
  5. Avoid making changes during review: Once you have requested a review, refrain from making further significant changes to your data source or website, as this can trigger additional review cycles and further delays.

After you make the necessary updates, wait 3 to 5 business days for the system to process the changes and update the product status. Note that initial program reviews may take longer.
