Change Nest Protect Wi-Fi network

If you change your router’s settings, Wi-Fi name or password, or install a new router, you need to update the Wi-Fi information on your Google Nest Protect.

Tip: If you give your new home network the same network name (SSID) and password as the previous one, your Nest products will automatically reconnect.

  1. On the Nest app home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Select your Protect.
  3. Go to Device options Wi-Fi connection.
  4. Tap Next. Nest will attempt to connect to your Protect, and it will start to look for nearby Wi-Fi networks.
  5. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Your Protect should automatically reconnect.
