Get movie and TV recommendations based on the watchlist, watch activity, and streaming services connected to your Google Account.
How recommendations work
If you're signed in to your Google Account and Web & App Activity is turned on, Google makes recommendations based on several factors, which include:
- What you add to your watchlist
- What you watched on Google TV and Android TV
- Content you purchased or rented on YouTube, Google TV, and Android TV
- Streaming services you selected
- Entertainment-related searches on Google Search or with the Google Assistant
- Specific titles you liked or disliked on Google TV or Google Search
- Trailers you watched on YouTube
- Popular content in your region
Tips:
- You can erase your past activity and data to reset your recommendations.
- New activity can give you fresh recommendations.
- To stop personalized recommendations, you can also turn off Web & App Activity .
- Purchases or rentals may take a few days to appear on the Google My Activity page .
Reset recommendations
Delete activity on a streaming service
- On your device, open a browser.
- Go to the My Activity page.
- Search for the streaming service.
- Choose More
Delete.
Delete activity on Google TV or Android TV
- On your device, open a browser.
- Go to My Activity .
- Search for Google TV or Android TV.
- Choose More
Tip:Purchases or rentals may take a few days to appear on the Google My Activity page .
Delete Watchlist history
- In a web browser, go to google.com/save .
- On the left, select Watchlist.
- Click Select and choose any items you want to delete.
- Click Remove
Remove.
Tip:If you add something to your watchlist again, Google can use that content to give you recommendations.
Remove your streaming services
In a web browser:
- Go to google.com.
- At the top right, make sure you're signed in to the same account that you use on your Android TV device.
- Search for
what to watch. - At the top of the search results, click Services.
- Select the services you want to remove.
- Click Close.
On an Android TV device:
- On your Android TV device, at the top, scroll to Settings .
- Select Accounts & Sign In.
- Choose your Google Account.
- Select Your Services.
- Select the saved services you want to remove from your Google Account.
