Nutrition and grocery data specification for Manufacturer Center

Nutrition and grocery data attributes are only available in Canada and the United States.

Use this specification to format your nutrition and grocery information for Manufacturer Center. Each attribute can be added to your feed or updated through the Manufacturer Center API . Adding as many attributes as possible for each food item makes your listing more detailed on Google.

Understanding nutrition and grocery data attributes

For food items, you can provide information about:

  • The amount of servings
  • Required nutrition facts (for example, the amount of sodium or fat)
  • Voluntary nutrition facts (for example, vitamins)
  • Folates
  • Grocery information (for example, instructions for storage)

Things to know

Make sure your nutrition and grocery information is accurate and that your food items comply with our policies .
  • Review each attribute table to understand how to format the attributes. If you’re setting up the attributes in the Manufacturer Center API, the attributes can be entered as text or a numerical value. If you’re entering a numerical value, make sure to convert fractions to decimal points (for example, if the serving calls for 3/4 cups, write it as “0.75 cups” in the data).
  • You can repeat some attributes throughout your feed. For example, if you want to tell people that your product is organic andvegetarian, you can use the grocery nutrition claim [grocery_nutrition_claim] attribute.
  • Some attributes require a standardized unit of measurement. Where indicated, the measurement is to be provided either by weight or by volume. Imperial and metric units are supported:
Unit types Supported values Attribute example
    US imperial weight
    oz, lb 10 oz

Some attributes will also accept any unit of choice in text format to support non-standard units, such as “1 cup” or “1 teaspoon”.
