How to fix: Restricted GTIN

Use a GTIN that doesn't start with "2", "02" or "04"

In this article

Why this issue is happening

Some GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) values fall within a restricted range that has been reserved for future use. Values that you submit for the GTIN [gtin] attribute must not fall within this range.

If the product category of your product requires a GTIN as a unique product identifier, then you must submit the correct manufacturer-assigned GTIN for each product. If a GTIN is not required, you may leave the GTIN [gtin] attribute without a value.

For more information about the validation of GTINs, refer to the GTIN Validation Guide .

Note: It’s recommended to provide a valid GTIN [gtin] for each product. Products with an assigned GTIN, but submitted without one, may have limited visibility.
