Why this issue is happening

A value is not provided for a required product attribute. This applies to one or more attributes in your product data.

Shopping ads and no-charge listings require specific attribute sets. Certain products must include these attributes.

Apparel offers need gender [gender] , age group [age_group] , and color [color] attributes. Shoes require the same attributes as apparel with the size [size] attribute. You must specify these for your offers to show.

Missing required attributes lower your product's data quality. This can reduce your offer's performance in search results.


How to fix your issue

To fix this issue, provide the missing required attributes for your product in your product data. You can add required attributes or only those that were specifically flagged for this error. Learn more about product data specification .

In some cases, if you don’t provide a Google product category [google_product_category] for your product, a category will be automatically determined. If this category is inaccurate, the required attributes may be different from your uploaded attributes. You can specify the correct category manually, by using the Google product category [google_product_category] attribute, which may resolve the issue.

Fix products one by one directly in Merchant Center

  1. Navigate to Productsin Merchant Center, then select the Needs attentiontab.
  2. Use the filtericonabove the table to find all products affected by your issue.
  3. Click on the title of the product you want to fix, then click Editproduct.
  4. Provide the value of the missing attribute(s).
  5. Select Save.

Fix multiple products at once

  1. Navigate to Productsin Merchant Center, then select the Needs attentiontab.
  2. Use the filtericonabove the table to find all products affected by your issue.
  3. Select the Downloadiconto download a list (.csv) of all affected products for all issues or this particular issue.
  4. Cross reference the downloaded list with your product data, and provide the value of the missing attribute(s).
  5. Reupload your corrected product data to Merchant Center using your chosen upload method.
