Use online verification to verify your identity in Ad Manager

This information only applies to publishers who are eligible for online identity verification. Online verification is currently only available in certain locations. If you don't see this option in your Ad Manager account, visit Verify your identity to learn about your verification steps.

To continue to show ads and receive payments from Google Ad Manager, you need to verify your identity. This is to confirm the accuracy of your account information and protect you from fraud.

You have 45 days from the date we first ask you to verify your identity. After 45 days, if you haven't completed the verification process, we'll stop showing ads on your pages.

Ads sold through  traditional transactions  continue to serve throughout the verification process.

Online verification process

This online process involves verifying your government-issued ID and completing a facial scan and typically takes around 5-10 minutes.

To receive payments, you may also need to verify your address via PIN after this step.

What you need to do

You need to provide an image of your current government-issued photo ID and a video selfie to complete a face match. The process typically takes around 5-10 minutes.

You can opt out of using biometric technology to match your ID image to your video selfie. If you opt out, we'll complete the review manually, which will take 2-3 business days.

Tip: Before you start, make sure the name on your payments profile matches the name on your ID. If they don't match, you can change your payment profile name .

How to verify your identity

  1. Sign in to your account and follow the instructions on your "Payments" page.
  2. Click Payments, then  Verification check.

If you use the same payments profile for both Ad Manager and Play Console accounts, you might need to go through a separate developer identity verification process. Learn more about verifying your developer identity information .

Submit your documents

Here are some tips on successfully submitting your documents:

  • Use the same full name in all documents.
  • Submit documents that are current and not expired.
  • Capture the entire document; the photo should be readable and in focus.
  • Keep your image free of reflections and glare.
  • Incomplete or obstructed documents, or dark or blurry photos won't be accepted.
  • Uploading documents or photos other than your ID may result in account suspension.

Supported document types include:

  • Passport
  • Driver's license
  • National identity card

Submit your video selfie

Here are some tips on successfully submitting your video selfie:

  • Make sure your face is visible and centered in the circle.
  • Make sure you’re the only person in the video.
  • Make sure your camera isn't too close to your face.
  • Make sure you turn your head slowly and fully in the correct direction.

If we can't verify your identity

Sometimes we're unable to verify your identity from the documents you provide (for example, if your documents are blurry or unreadable). If this happens you'll be allowed to try again. However, to prevent unauthorized activity, we only allow a limited number of verification attempts.
