Global Placement ID (GPID) on Web

Google now supports Global Placement ID (GPID) on Web as configured via publishers’ prebid settings. Buyers can request GPID by reaching out to their account manager or through support channels.

Publisher provided signals (PPS) in auction packages

To improve the discoverability and utility of publisher provided signals (PPS), we have extended its reach to the Marketplace for Authorized Buyers and curation partners . PPS audience and contextual data can now be discovered and included in auction packages .

Updates to bid request eligibility for TCF traffic

We have updated the TCF bidder eligibility requirements on personalized requests. Bidders can review the updated requirements for integration with the IAB Europe TCF .

Update to iOS ad tracking transparency settings

We no longer set device.lmt based on a user's iOS ad tracking transparency settings. Bidders will be able to find users’ ad tracking transparency settings communicated explicitly on bid requests in the device.ext.atts field.

Open Bidding Direct Pay in open beta

Open Bidding Direct Pay (OBDP) allows Open Bidding exchanges to pay publishers directly for purchased media, resolving supply chain optimization concerns, and aligns with growing advertiser preference for transparency and direct access to inventory within the supply chain.

OBDP is now in Open Beta for all Ad Manager 360 partners and supported Open Bidding exchanges. Publishers who already have direct relationships with SSPcan start requesting direct payment connections without any enablement required from Google to participate. In June 2025, we expanded Online Gambling certifications to include Apps in the US. Any bidder who wishes to bid with Online Gambling apps can submit a gambling certification request by indicating their full app store URL in the website(s) field.

Video player size calculation in RTB callouts

The way we are calculating video player size on RTB callouts is changing. The internal mechanism by which we detect and send video player size is being simplified. We do not expect a difference in how bidders receive this information.

Video & Connected TV

In April 2025, we expanded our support of OpenRTB 2.6 by launching dynamic podding. This update will enable Authorized Buyers & Open Bidding partners to optimize bids for the TV ad break. Requests will specify a maximum pod duration and maximum number of ads, allowing bidders to determine how many bids to return.

Updates to Gambling and games policy (March 2025)

In March 2025, we will update our Gambling and games policy for improved readability and understanding. The allowed country list for Social casino games has been updated to align with Google's other advertising platform allowances. Single-account targeting of both social casino country groups is now available. These changes will impact what is currently restricted or prohibited per our policies. We will begin enforcing the policy updates on March 25, 2025.

Reducing Product and Sensitive Category Filtering in OpenRTB

Authorized Buyers or Open Bidding partners migrating from Google RTB to OpenRTB protocol may experience increased Product and Sensitive Category bid filtering. This filtering results from differences between IAB Content 1.0 and Google category taxonomies. A setting is now available to choose Google taxonomies in bcat. Reach out to your Account Manager or technical support to enable Google category taxonomy for your account.

Expanded Inventory in Pretargeting for Authorized Buyers

The "Expanded inventory" setting allows you to choose to receive bid requests from inventory that may otherwise be blocked. This inventory was previously available primarily in Programmatic Guaranteed deals but is now extended across all transaction types.  Expanded Inventory is off by default. To enable it, navigate to the new ‘Expanded Inventory’ setting in the Pretargeting UI. Learn more about  Expanded Inventory for buyers .
