How to fix: Image too small

Submit images that are at least 500 x 500 for all products to be compliant with new requirements
Note:
  • We recently announced new image size requirements of at least 500 x 500 pixels for all product images. Enforcement of the new requirements will begin January 31, 2027.
  • Starting July 2026 you will see warnings on images larger than the minimum requirements but smaller than 500 x 500.

Submit images that are at least 500 x 500 for all products to be compliant with new requirements. Until January 31, 2027, you can use an image that's at least 100 x 100 pixels for non-clothing and 250 x 250 pixels for clothing products. For YouTube Shopping ads, images must be at least 500 x 500 pixels to serve on TV.

In some cases, if you submit images that are below the 500 x 500 minimum requirements, we will serve an optimized version of your image. These optimized images will meet the new image requirements and will prevent product disapproval without any action from you. To update an optimized image, you can submit a new image that is larger than 500 x 500 in your product data source.

Reasons why your issue is happening

The image submitted for this product is too small to be used in an ad or a free listing.

Why is this important?

Customers rely on product images to make decisions when shopping online. Since images are so important, we disapprove products when they don't provide an image with the right dimensions. By staying within the size dimensions we provide, you can make sure your product is ready to appear to customers who view your ads or free listings.

How to fix the issue

Update your images so that they meet our image requirements:

  • For apparel products, images must be at least 250 x 250 pixels and can't be larger than 64 megapixels.
  • For YouTube Shopping Ads, images must be at least 500 x 500 pixels to serve on TV.
  • For all other products, images must be at least 100 x 100 pixels.
    • Note: We recently announced new image size requirements of at least 500 x 500 pixels for all product images. Enforcement of the new requirements will begin on January 31, 2027. Until that date, you will see warnings on images larger than the above requirements but smaller than 500 x 500. In some cases, we may serve an optimized version of images below 500 x 500 when possible. These optimized images will meet the new image requirements and will prevent product disapproval without any action from you.
  • Images cannot be larger than 64 megapixels or 16 MB in file size.
  • Avoid submitting thumbnails or scaling images. We recommend that the product take no less than 75% but not more than 90% of the full image.

You can submit links to your updated product images by adding them to the image link [image_link] attribute.
