To earn money from gifts on YouTube livestreams, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a verified AdSense account . Creators who have not gone through the ID verification process on AdSense will be prompted to do so when they try to enable gifts for the first time. Eligibility for verification

The minimum age requirement to participate in AdSense for YouTube is 18 years old. If you're under 18, you can only monetize videos by linking your YouTube channel to an approved AdSense for YouTube account (of a parent or guardian over 18). To confirm your identity for AdSense, you can use your Driver's License, Passport, State ID, or Green Card. You'll also need to confirm your name and address. Learn more about identity verification for AdSense .

Verify your info

On a computer, sign in to YouTube Studio .
In the left menu, select Earn.
Under the “Gifts” card, click Get started.
To start the Gifts require identity verification process, click Verify.
On the “Payment info” page in AdSense, click Verify nowand submit your info. Learn more about the verification in AdSense .

Check the status of your verification

To check your verification status, go to the "Gifts" card in YouTube Studio. If the check is still pending, you will see "Verification in progress." Once your identity is successfully verified, you will receive an email from AdSense and a notification within your YouTube Studio inbox confirming the successful completion of the verification process. Frequently asked questions

Can I choose not to go through the AdSense identity verification process?

You will likely be asked to go through the Adsense identity verification process at some point if you are monetizing on YouTube. When you reach YouTube’s revenue thresholds for payment, you will be prompted to complete ID verification in order to get paid.

Also, when you enable certain monetizing features, such as gifts, you will be prompted to complete ID verification if you have not already done so.

Can I resubmit for identity verification?

Yes, if the documents you provide are blurry or unreadable, we may not be able to verify your identity. In such cases, we will inform you and ask you to resubmit them. Learn more on how to submit your documents in AdSense .

How do I complete the identity verification process if I’m not the channel owner?

If you’re not the channel owner, you’ll need to contact your content owner to complete AdSense ID verification. When you try to enable gifts for the first time, you’ll be prompted to notify your content owner. Once your content owner completes the verification process, you’ll be able to turn on gifts in Studio. You can check with your content owner for updates on the verification status.

Why don’t I see the option to enable gifts through YouTube Studio?
