The young Beethoven considered Eleonore von Breuning to be the loveliest girl in Bonn . In 1802 she married Beethoven's best friend, the doctor Franz Gerhard Wegeler. Both remained faithful to Beethoven throughout their lives, although Beethoven did not always make it easy for them.
