The Frenchman Paul Garfunkel, who arrived in Curitiba in 1954, contributed to the modernization of plastic arts in Paraná. He produced watercolors, engravings, paintings and drawings depicting landscapes, people, architecture and everyday scenes from Curitiba and other Brazilian cities he visited.
