The strength of the painting lies not only in the plant itself, but also in the transparency of the water and the movement of wind over the water. The opposite shore and rocks on the bottom of the lake are also masterfully crafted. For all its realism, this interpretation comes very close to the Impressionist desire to capture the moment.
