About the author  (2013)

Martha Simpson has written a variety of professional books for public librarians and media specialists, including Bringing Children into the Public Library. She is Head of Children's Services at the Stratford Library Association in Connecticut and lives in nearby Hamden. Martha and her husband have four grown children and she fondly remembers all those Mother's Day breakfasts. What Not to Give Your Mom on Mother's Day is her first picture book. Jana Christy is an Illustrator. She worked for an independent comix and then as a Boston based illustrator. Her work appeared in several publications including The Boston Globe, The Boston Phoenix and The Boston Herald. She currently illustrates children's books, including the Never Girls series, written by Kiki Thorpe, and the Sunny Sweet series, written by Jennifer Mann.
