I totally understand the appeal of a one-time payment, and Discogs updates their site so frequently that I'm pushing out a new version of the extension almost every week (~52 times a year at this point) just to keep everything working. The subscription helps support that ongoing maintenance and the time I spend building new features and helping users with questions and troubleshooting. It's less like buying a product and more like a service that's actively kept alive. Thanks for the feedback. DE requires significant ongoing maintenance. Discogs updates their site frequently and keeping everything working for 12,000+ users takes real time and effort every week. The subscription helps make that sustainable. Hope that helps!

I’m sorry to hear you feel this way. I completely understand the frustration of having something that was free now require a subscription. Up until now, I’ve relied on donations to cover costs, but with thousands of users and only a handful donating each year, it just hasn’t been sustainable. At this point, maintaining Enhancer has become a part-time job on top of my full-time work. The subscription is set at $10/year (less than $1 a month) so I can continue to put in the time and energy needed to keep the extension alive. I know it’s not the answer everyone wants to hear, but it’s the only way I can realistically keep Enhancer maintained long term without resorting to ads.

Hi, yes I moved things into a subscription due to the amount of work involved in keeping things going. It was not out of nowhere though. There has been a notification in the extension's popup for just under a month now. I also put a notification on everyone's dashboard a week ago as well as a link to the thread in the Discogs Enhancer group on the Learn page under "Announcements".
