no access to microphone

I have had duolingo for years and now I can't access my microphone don't no how to do this My microphone is turned on in my settings but I need to allow duolingo access How do I do this?

I added this extension hoping it would have an icone to click on to allow duolingo to access my microphone. I can't do any of the speaking exercises tried contacting duolingo and they will not respond. I have had the app for years and all of a sudden it is doing this???
