Google Admin Console

Hi there,
I am also trying to implement this extensions to OPAC kiosks at a public library.

I have been running some tests with Chat GPT (since I am not super in-the-know on these things) and found that when I go to chrome://policy, the policies for this extension that I have set do show up on the list, but they are not actively being implemented. I did notice chrome policy names follow capitalization while the extension policy names are all lower case. Example: the home navigation button policy name is listed for the extension as homenavbutton, but if it were a chrome policy it would be HomeNavButton. Not sure if this matters?

Chat GPT told me to ask if the extension supports for Chrome Enterprise policies(chrome.storage.managed) and not just local JSON.

I could be way off, but am just trying to see if I can make this work for our needs. I am willing to further troubleshoot.

Extension Update Injected Font Awesome CSS causing problems with pages that already use FA

Today we started getting "X" boxes in place of some FA icons, and traced it to the following CSS that this extension is injecting:

.fa, .fas, .fa-solid, :lang(en) .fa, :lang(en) .fas, :lang(en) .fa-solid {
font-family: "Font Awesome 7 Free" !important;
font-style: normal !important;
font-weight: 900 !important;
}

The CSS selector is so generic, it ends up changing the entire page! At your earliest convenience, can this be corrected to target only the Kiosk extensions elements, instead? To note, we are using a mix of v5 and v6, pro (paid) versions of FA icons.

Added Extension through Google Admin

Hello,

First of all, thank you very much for creating this extension—it has been extremely helpful. We currently have about 10 library kiosk machines (Chromeboxes) that will be utilizing it. I was able to install the extension through our Google Admin Console by navigating to Apps & Extensions → Kiosk → Extension. After doing so, I can see the "Go Back" button in the upper left-hand corner, but I have not been able to determine how to enable or modify the other available features.

Since local sign-ins are disabled and the guest mode has been removed, I am unable to access or configure the extension directly on the Chromebox itself. When the device powers on, it automatically launches into Kiosk mode, so I am not sure how to reach the settings locally. I also have not been able to find a way to access or adjust these settings within the Google Admin Console.

Would you be able to provide any guidance on how to access the controls or make changes to the configuration?

Stopped reloading

i installed it on Chromium Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm. It worked great suddenly after updates its not reloading the home page

Bar with save/export/.../Close is missing for Chromium/Linux

I plan to use your plugin since i think the functionality is a perfect fit for my use-case. However, i installed it on Chromium Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm and the bar with save/export/.../Close is missing in the bottom of the config-screen . It is available at a Windows PC. Can you help me get this bar, since i can not save any changes now.

Window load called twice, duplicated elements with no callbacks

Hi,

first of all, thanks for the awesome work!

We have a problem with a Wordpress website where the window load event is called twice, this behaviour create the back, forward and home button twice, overlapping it, making the buttons unusable.
Will be very helpful if you can do a fix, checking if the extension was already loaded before creating, or recreating, the components.

Problem with back button

Hi,

I'm having an issue with the back button. When I open a PDF file, the button is not visible, which means I can't leave the window — the only option is to restart the Chrome application.

According to the extension's description, "The back button will always show if you end up at a PDF or media file URL that renders in the browser."
However, this doesn't seem to work in my case.

Could you please help me resolve this issue?

Force Fullscreen Mode

Hi, love the extension. Is there any way you could add an option to force full screen mode? And if a user tries to leave full screen mode they need to enter a password or something?

The navigation icon turns rectangle shape

Hi.. i love your extension. Great job!. The only problem that we have is when we surf to this particular webpage: https://research.ebsco.com/ , the navigation icons turns to rectangle shape but the shape still funtion for the navigation but it doesn't look nice. Any idea why and how do I rectify it?

Option to cycle between url's?

Hi, great extention! Would it be possible to add an option to cycle between URL's? Now i have two "extra buttons" with urls that i can cycle between but i rather have it cycle between them with a adjustable interval.Thanks!
