Extremely problematic. I'm trying it for a second time and it always takes hours to fix different bugs. Super annoying. It might be good to work with, but making it work takes hours and is so frustrating I don't think it's worth it.

Studied Korean on and off for years without getting anywhere, a friend introduced me to this tool and since then I've made leaps and bounds of actual tangible progress. Genuinely the #1 thing that brought me to where I am today and I think it is the single most useful tool for learning Korean overall, especially if you already have some basics down.

Kimchi reader takes all the hassle out of leveling up your Korean through the intermediate stage. You can easily lookup words, mark them as known, then use your known words to guide you towards appropriately leveled next materials. Really appreciate all the work that has continued to be put into kimchi-reader! The community driven collections helped me find my first couple native books to read.

I use this as my main tool to pick up new words and have been doing so for a few months now. Once you get used to it, it seriously reduces friction between recognizing an unknown word and deciding you should learn it + putting it in a wordlist.

Formerly a user of "Lingq", but switched to kimchireader last year and it was one of the best decisions I've made for my Korean learning journey.
