Love it! Occasionally Goodreads changes its web settings, which interferes with the extension, but I just contact the developers as suggested, and they are always quick to respond. Last time they'd found a work-around when the pop-up blocks other page information, and a current glitch seems to have been repaired now. Great support. I'd like to see Libby and Overdrive and IndyReads listed, too. Maybe one day? Thanks for the extension!

I have used this extension for years and love it. I use the library for almost all books and this is so helpful. Unfortunately the last few months this extension no longer works. It just spins and spins and never completes the search and information. I have done all the things....uninstall and reinstall the extension, update and restart chrome, restart the computer. No luck. I will try with Firefox but this is disappointing....

Hi Catherine, I'm the developer behind Library Extension. I'm sorry to hear about the poor experience you've started to experience. It sounds like this might be related to configuration changes at the library catalogs you look at - these can change without notice to me, and sometimes requires a quick update which can be available within minutes or sometimes it's a new catalog system that requires additional work. In either case, a reinstall or switch won't alone fix the issue - if you would be willing to write in to support@libraryextension.com with the name of your library and the state (since many tend to have similar names), I'll be happy to look into this for you. I work in a library and I find the tool to be invaluable. We train new hires on its uses, it is such a nice shortcut for us to check quickly if it is at our library or somewhere nearby. And to check Hoopla too! 5 out of 5 stars

I have been using the Library Extension for quite a while and really love it. However, recently the extension doesn't show up in Goodreads. I've been trying to figure out what happened - reloaded the extension, updated Chrome etc. I only see it on Amazon. Therefore the 4 stars.

I've verified that Goodreads has introduced some changes to how they layout and render their page, which is different from what Library Extension currently expects. The extension tells me the book is available at my library but when I go to my library it is not available, not even in their catalog. So, in my brief experience, it has proven to be useless.

I love this extension, it saves money by letting me know I can pick up a book at the library - something in the past I did not check since I didn't want to use the old library search tools (They upgraded since then and it is easier to use) but this tool is still the best

I have probably saved thousands of dollars using this extension, but far too often on Chrome it just decides to stop working. For some reason it can't pull the library settings data, so doesn't appear on Amazon. I have to delete and reinstall it at least monthly. Fix that and I'll come back for a 5 star rating.

I'm the developer behind Library Extension, and I'm sorry to hear about the issue you encountered. I would be happy to dig into this and understand what is happening - the extension suddenly stopping isn't something I've been able to reproduce yet, but I would be happy to try and coordinate some time to get some better diagnostic information which could help me dig into this. One item that is worth checking is whether your browser is fully updated - there have been a number of Chrome updates recently, and when the browser updates itself partially (before you've completely restarted it), this can leave the Extension running in an unsupported way (the Extension is partially running under the old version of the browser, and partially under the new). It's worth fully restarting your browser (sometimes this is easiest done by a full reboot) to ensure that Chrome is running the same version across your system (several users have had exactly this situation impact them and end up with the behavior you are seeing) Best, Andrew [Update October 7, 2025] The latest version, 2025.1005.1, includes some fixes including in the area of configuration not showing up properly; after you get this version, let me know if the problem still pops up!
