Disable SHIFT to allow for typing symbols?

Thank you for developing this feature! I have been looking for it for a long time.

Is there a way I can type the ! or @ symbol without switching accounts / refreshing the page?
Can we turn off the SHIFT shortcut and just use ALT?

Shift + number has its other function already

can write @(shift + 2) without refreshing the page
