5 years of data
The Google Trends API provides access to a rolling window of the last 5 years of data
Regular interval aggregation
You'll be able to aggregate trends data in daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly intervals

You can compare trends across countries and sub-regions ( sometimes more!

The Google Trends API includes access to consistently scaled data
, which means that you'll be able to do more with Google Trends data than previously possible with the UI, including:

Join, compare, and merge data from multiple requests
The API makes it easier to compare dozens of terms, while the Trends UI only lets you make comparisons between five terms. -
Extend time ranges without having to rerun historical data
Since API data is not scaled from 0 to 100, you can pull search interest only for the last period when monitoring a term over time. In the Trends website, you'd have to pull the entire period in every request.

Our focus with the alpha test is to verify functionality and gather feedback from a limited set of developers. As we can't open the API for everyone yet, we're prioritizing developers that know what they want to do, that can start doing it soon, and that are willing to provide feedback.
