Duration: 6 months contract to hire

Rate: DOE/hr.

Title: Unix Systems Administrator

Location: Columbus, OH

Number of Openings: 1

Length: 2 Month Contract—Extensions Expected

Description:

The Unix Systems Administrator will perform the following duties: Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, patch, secure and troubleshoot AIX and Linux systems. The Administrator will also be responsible for providing support for hardware, OS, software applications and networking to internal customers in a fast moving production environment. This position requires 24x7 on-call duty rotation with other members of the team.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build new systems and assist application owners with the installation and maintenance of their software
• Provide high level of customer satisfaction through the effective delivery of technical support and service
• Take ownership of customer service requests and manage them to closure
• Provide problem isolation and resolution
• Serve in a 24x7 on-call rotation

Qualifications

• AIX administration, including installation and configuration of VIO Server and/or Linux administration, including SUSE, RedHat and Oracle Enterprise Linux
• VMware ESX administration
• Shell scripting
• 4+ years of UNIX/Linux administration
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills

Additional Qualifications:

· LDAP Design and Installation.  Experience developing a centralized LDAP authentication for AIX, RedHat, SUSE, OEL.

· Networking concepts including routing, firewalls and load balancing.

· Java/J2EE applications running on WebSphere, WebLogic and Tomcat.

· Databases including Oracle RAC and DB2 UDB.

· Veritas Netbackup

· Veritas Cluster Server

· WebSphere MQ Series
