The redesigned Drive for desktop update makes it easier to manage and access your Google Drive files on your computer.
Important: You'll continue to access your files through your computer's native file system: File Explorer on Windows or Finder on macOS.

- Quickly view sync status:The new "Sync status" tile on your homepage displays your recently synced files and current syncing activity. It replaces the previous "Activity" view.
- Access detailed sync activity:To get a comprehensive list of all recent sync activity, go to the dedicated "Sync activity" view. On the home screen, you can either:
- Find this in the navigation menu on the left.
- Click View all sync activity.
- Stay informed with notifications:Important updates, like time-sensitive sync errors, show in your notifications.
- Use enhanced search:You can use the new search bar to quickly and easily locate your Google Drive files directly from your desktop.
- Simple sync control:You can pause or resume the sync process of Drive for desktop at any time with the conveniently placed Pause button.
Use multiple accounts at the same time
You can use up to four accounts at one time with Drive for desktop.
To add an account:
- On your computer, click the Drive for desktop menu

- In the top right-hand corner, click your profile picture
+ Add account.
- Sign in through your browser.
- Restart Drive for desktop.
To disconnect an account:
- On your computer, click the Drive for desktop menu

- Scroll to the account that you want to disconnect.
- Click Disconnect account.
- In the pop-up window, click OK.
Important: If a streaming account is disconnected, any offline files will be removed.
