The Hotel Center "Reports" tab (formerly known as "Recommendations") helps you understand possible opportunities that you might be missing based on your landing pages, pricing, hotel list, or other settings.
Below is a quick overview of how a user searching for an itinerary can lead to participation in ad auctions by your properties. By using the "Reports" tab, you’ll be able to recognize and adjust metrics for your properties, which minimizes missed opportunities of your hotel booking links being shown to users.

An opportunity to show your ad is created whenever a user searches for one of your hotels that we've already matched. If a hotel isn't matched, there's no potential for an engagement with your ad, even if a user searches for it.
When an opportunity is created, we check to make sure we have rates and availability for the user's travel dates. After confirming rates and availability, we then verify that there's a matching landing page for that opportunity. Only when rates, availability, and a landing page are all confirmed, your ads can enter the auctions to determine if your listing will be displayed, and where it will appear in the search results.
Deprecated metrics
The metrics in the table below were previously populated in the Hotel Center "Reports" tab and are now deprecated.
Tip
- You didn’t respond quickly enough and exceeded the response deadline of around 4000 milliseconds.
- You returned an error.
- Your response was malformed.
- You didn’t have live pricing configured for these searches.
- You restricted Google from accessing the hotel itinerary in question.
- You didn’t set a bid.
- You didn’t have a valid landing page.
- There were enough prices in the cache.
Managing table columns and participation data
Each metric and attribute in the reports tables can be displayed as a column, so you can customize your report with the data that is most relevant to you.
You can select "View by" to sort your report by date, hotel ID, user country, hotel location, and device type. These variables are considered attributes of the report. Attributes are independent variables and metrics are dependent variables. If certain columns are blank, try viewing the data with more granularity by selecting multiple "View by" attributes (for example, select both hotel ID and user country).
To add or remove columns on the reports tables, click the "three-dot" iconon top of the report, then select the checkboxes next to the metrics you want to display as a column, then click "Update". The report will show the metrics you selected.
