Get a simple and helpful view of your package tracking and delivery information, right in your inbox. Package tracking in Gmail is available for participating carriers in the US.
How package tracking works
If your order email contains a tracking number, Gmail automatically uses the tracking number to look up the order status and make it easy for you to see. Package status will appear in your inbox and at the top of individual emails, showing details like the estimated arrival date and delivery status.
Generally, an order or shipment will be displayed when the confirmation email includes the following information:
- Tracking number
- Merchant name and logo
- Product name and product image
- Order number
- Order URL
- Estimated delivery date
Gmail will help keep track of packages across most shopping platforms and shipping carriers for users who have turned on the feature.

When a tracking number is identified, Gmail will use it to look up order statuses and surface them in your inbox. Only the tracking number is shared with carrier partners.
