You can join a Teams meeting using Google Meet hardware. Some Teams features might not work.
Schedule a Teams meeting on a Meet hardware device
If you create a Google Calendar event with Teams meeting details, you can add a room using Meet hardware. The Teams meeting appears on the room's schedule.
You might not be able to add a room directly if a Teams meeting is started by someone from outside your organization, or if the meeting is started using another scheduling software. In these instances, you must first make a copy of the event. You can then add the room to the duplicate event. In this case, you can:
- Go to Google Calendar .
- Find the event in your calendar and click More Duplicate.
- Go to Roomsand select the room with the Meet hardware device.
- Remove participants from the duplicated event to avoid multiple invitations.
Or, you can create your own meeting to invite participants to the room. Instead of adding a Google Meet link, copy and paste the Teams join details into the event description. The Meet hardware device recognizes the Teams join details and shows the meeting on the schedule.
Join a scheduled Teams meeting from a Meet hardware device
- On your Meet hardware device, go to the room that has a Teams interoperability (interop) call scheduled.
- Tap the meeting name that includes the subtitle Via Microsoft Teams.
- Use the touch controller or remote control to select the meeting.
The meeting begins when the Teams host joins.
Join with a meeting code
You can join Teams calls from Meet hardware by manually entering the meeting ID and passcode in the room. This works for both scheduled and impromptu Teams meetings as long as credentials are provided.
- On your Meet hardware device, find an available Meet hardware room.
- Tap Enter a code or nickname.
- On the top, tap the Join a meetingdrop-down, and select Teams.
- Enter the number from the Teams invitation.
- Tap Join.
- If required, enter the meeting password.
- Tap Join.
The meeting begins when the Teams host joins.
