Reasons why the issue is happening
One or more Global Trade Item Numbers (GTINs) that you submitted for your products aren't formatted correctly. This error usually occurs because:
- The GTIN contains characters that aren't numerals.
- The GTIN uses formatting that doesn't match one of the standard GTIN types . You must only use GTINs as they have been assigned by the manufacturer.
- Too many or too few digits. GTINs are 8, 12, 13, or 14 digits.
- Failed check digit validation (a technical method used to verify if your data is correct). If you mistyped a digit, the check digit can help to catch that. Use the GS1 check digit calculator
Note: It’s recommended to provide a valid GTIN [gtin]
for each product. Products with an assigned GTIN, but submitted without one, may have limited visibility.
How to fix the issue
Add a valid GTIN for one or more of your products. If your product has a barcode, you can normally find the GTIN on the packaging. For more information about the validation of GTINs, refer to the GTIN Validation Guide .

Next steps
After making the requested changes, check that you’ve fixed the issue by making sure the issue is no longer listed on the “ Needs attention ” page.
Keep in mind: It may take 24-72 hours for your change to be reflected on the “ Needs attention ” page.
If you've recently updated GTINs and this affects Product Ratings review matching, allow 7-10 days for the reviews data to sync and reflect the changes.
