LUTRON MAESTRO COMPATABLE 100% ! ! !
DIYSteve· Review provided by homedepot.com · March 30, 2021
I've been using and installing Lutron Maestro wireless dimmers for over 10 years and love the ease of installation, range and reliability. While I can still purchase Maestro PICO remotes online, they seem to be more scarce and higher priced. I did a deep dive into Lutron's tech specs and reviews and found that both Caseta and Maestro operated on the same "Clear Connect" system. So, for $15, I gave it a try. The Caseta Pico remote operates the Maestro in wall master dimmer flawlessly. I also found that the Caseta remote range is better. With proof positive that all are compatible I purchased 3 more. The only difference is the old Maestro Pico remotes are powered by a replaceable 2032 lithium cell and the new Casetas are powered by an internal non-replaceable battery rated at 10 years. We'll see how long the internal battery lasts?

Hope this information helps someone.
Lutron Caseta Pico remote

This is the small remote that comes in the dimmer light switch. Easy to install if you know smart phone apps. Will need a bridge to your wifi network to start so that these and other devices communicate within the Caseta (and other) smart switch families. The initial kit sells for $80- $100, and devices like these are often add-ons. My last project for some kitchen lights would have required breaking sheet rock, snaking cables, repairing sheet rock, patching/finishing and final painting if I had not used this system. Using the remote and replacing a double switch cover with a triple (just a few dollars), I was able to add the equivalent of a three-way switch on the other side of the kitchen. This is actually better functionality too - both switches are able to turn the lights on and off or dim them. The Pico remote also has a center button so you can set a commonly used dim setting. Traditional two or three way switches can only dim on one end and only switch on/off on the other end (that means no dimming in on the other switch). This system allows as many remotes as you like, AND they have a trim feature that you can view on the Web (it isn't in the enclosure instructions which I think it should be), so you can trim different kinds of modern LED bulbs to get them really dim as opposed to the often 'still on a bit" annoying feature when you try to dim then really low. Great product - will be buying more and replacing my Wemo switches that can't dim.

Outstanding product!

Paired one of these Pico remotes with a Caseta dimmer for bedside control of my bedroom lighting. This Pico model is the exact match for the face of the dimmer, so has all of the same features available from it, including the favorite setting. Also has the option to be mounted to the wall, for multi-location control, and with a Decora-style plate, you'd never know that it wasn't just an additional wall unit.

Lutron lists the range of this remote at 30 feet. Conditions vary, and I can understand why they rate it conservatively. I took this dimmer down my street - at night, so I could see the bedroom light on - trying it the entire way. It was only 14 degrees out, and where I have a cold, I gave up at around 200 feet, where it was still controlling my interior lighting flawlessly. Next, I'm going to pair one with a Caseta switch on my outside lights, so the wife can turn them on as she's approaching the house. Outstanding!
Great replacement remote!

Our fancy Lutron shade remote was chewed up by our dog. The exact replacement remote was 120.00.
Decided to try this one as an affordable option.
It works perfect. Couldn’t be happier.
