Absolute Trash; avoid at all cost
Edwickk· Review provided by belkin.com · June 17, 2024
I bought many WeMo plugs several years ago; at the time WeMo was suggested as the best integration for Google Home, so I made sure to get all the same brand to make things run smooth. Now after plugging in some of the plugs that were not used for a few months of the year, I find that they need to be removed and reinstalled to the app in order to respond. Removing them from the network seems to be permanent; no amount of factory resetting will allow me to add these back onto the network. The app finds them when I click "add new device" and even correctly identifies them, but once the setup begins, the app seems to confuse the new device with one of the other plugs already added, and instead of adding the new plug, the setup process just starts changing the name and settings of the existing plug instead. When I unplug everything else to avoid this confusion, the app still finds the new plug, identifies it correctly, connects to the new plug's wifi, then does literally nothing after that. It refuses to complete the setup no matter what I do. Hours of trying with several plugs, and all the same result. Found, identified, rejected. These are now absolutely worthless, and I have to just hope that the plugs left on my network keep running, because once they run into any issue, I literally can't fix them. Absolute trash.
Clear instructions and item worked as described -

Clear instructions and all 3 items I bought worked as described - game changer in terms of convenience as I no longer need to walk around the house to turn the devices on and off. I also like the ability to use voice command via Alexa.

I have been a Wemo user for years and the ability to have everything under one ecosystem or very well integrated with other apps is very important. Installation could be a little tricky because while there are several options to get the devices connected, not every option will work all the time - but you just need one to work because once it is connected then you are good to go. Note: these devices do not work on 5G networks (you have to use the slower ones) and your phone needs to be on the same network as the device to activate it.

The one ding is that integration with other apps continue to be a work in progress - every time Alexa goes through an update and if Wemo doesnt update its API then it will disconnect and connect on its own after a while. Apple's home app also wants to automatically connect with the device and competes with Alexa. But I see this more as an ecosystem issue between various companies than Wemo itself.
Don't Waste Your Money

I tried so hard to like these Wemo plugs - the form factor is great and the cost is reasonable. Today I am officially giving up on them. I have 8 of them and they have been the most unreliable and frustrating item in my Apple smart home. They constantly go "No Response" and I have to cycle their power (unplug them)
to get them back online. Of the 8, I'd say I average at least two per day going "No Response".

I am about to just throw them in the trash bin and move on - they have been way too much frustration for the few bucks I saved over buying from a more reliable brand. I have replaced all of them over the last few months with plugs from another company (starts with E), and they are rock solid and never drop off line, so I know it's nothing to do with my Thread network capabilities ( I have 4 HomePod minis and two Apple TVs available as thread hubs).

I worked with Wemo tech support for over two months troubleshooting them. I spent hours and hours of my time doing all of the test they wanted. We tried everything to get them to be reliable and tech support finally gave up and said that Customer Service would contact me within one to two business days to arrange a refund for the plugs since we could not make them work. That was over 1 month ago and after several reminder emails on my part I have still not heard anything from them.

If anyone from Wemo tech support or customer service wants to look into this, the reference for all of my work with your tech support is ref:_00D306e4T._5002T1QkCCo:ref .
Will not stay connected to thread network
TraceyMac· Review provided by belkin.com · August 10, 2023
I have 10 of these WSP 100 outlets. I have a reasonably large thread network, with multiple edge routers (2 x Apple TV, 4 x HomePod mini, and 6 x Eero (thread capable)) and I have basically stopped using the WSP100s as they continually go "No Response" on the thread network. I have been working with Belkin Tech support for several weeks to try to fix the issues, and despite many attempts by Belkin, they are unable to resolve the issue.

I began replacing the WSP100s with Eve plugs and have zero issues with the Eve plugs, so I am confident that the issue lies with the Wemo plugs and not my network. I have 7 WSP100 plugs that I am using to gather info for the Belkin. techs as they work to try to fix my issues, of those 7, I get an average of 2 of them offline every morning when I wake up. When they are offline, even pressing the manual switch on the side of the plug does not work. They have to be power cycled to bring them back to life.

I really did try to like these plugs - they are small and reasonably priced, but I am about to throw them all in the trash can and continue my replacement of them with Eve.
