A perfect build thats slightly ruined by stickers
FriendlyDrillex030· Review provided by LEGO · January 31, 2024
The ship itself and the build is amazing. And the minifigs are quite fun. Tho Jaycen's hair is the wrong color and I don't quite care for him and the other two. Chopper and Hera look amazing tho and the fact all figures can man the Ghost and Phantom make the selection very nice.

The definitive sour note is the stickers. While I do not mind stickers usually and have grown to be pretty adept at applying them, these were majority clearbacks (which was not always needed) and felt terrible to apply. Especially the sticker on the canopy left a sour taste in my mouth as it darkens, and its right above the amazingly printed piece, making it kinda stand out. Tho my main gripe is the fact a lot were clear backed, which could have also been solid stickers with white backgrounds. The amount of stickers did surprise me. Especially the ones you gotta put inside L shaped pieces, making so quite difficult.

All in all, the set looks great once done and I like the play features and room inside. They used space well and it looks worth your money, with the only downside being stickers that are clearbacked, rather than with a more (in my opinion) practical solid background.

Straight away I have to come clean: I never watched Rebels and, because of that, I had a hard time watching Ashoka. Now that my sins have been revealed, I can talk about this set. Aesthetically, this set is fantastic. The bright white with the pops of primary colors are a great break from the mostly grey Star Wars catalogue (which is 90% of my collection). The shape is also extremely different, and the build techniques to achieve that shape are fun and interesting. The mini figure count is great. The diversity in figure molds is a rare treat! A human, a smaller human, a Twi’lek, a Mon Calamari, and a droid. Not going to lie, besides Chopper (who I hear is a war criminal), I’m not familiar with any of these characters, but I’m happy to have some cool figs. The price point vs the piece/ mini figure count is fair. I was lucky enough to grab this during the May the 4th promotion, so it was $20 cheaper, but I will say, I would have been happy to buy this set at the full sticker price (the $20 in my pocket is pretty great though). This set will definitely display well, and if you’re buying it for a kid, the play features seem fun. I can confidently say that this would be a great set if you are a fan of the show, a fan of Star Wars, or just a fan of spaceships in general. 10/10 for me.
Awesome, but....

I'm very happy with the build and how it turned out. The play features are awesome and and the minifigs look great too. The interior is spacious and the colors are a great change of pace from Star Wars gray. I can highly recommend this set to any Star Wars Rebels fans.

Now on to QC...

Unfortunately QC issues are still present, even in a $160 Lego set

And before you say, "oh well just contact costumer service". The problem isn't that they won't replace parts. Lego customer service is top notch. The problem is that lego needs to maintain a higher standard of quality; if it's going to market itself as the leading plastic brick company. And price it's products as a premium, top of the line toy.

A couple of the smaller 1x1 pieces, had large burs and the 1x1 with clip pieces aren't even square.

One of the stickers is missprinted, with a gray line across it.

Most of the light gray pieces have lots of swirling in them, not a huge deal but seriously Lego. I've seen knock offs that look better.

And finally, the 3 large plates that makeup the interior of the Ghost all have major swirling. I don't want to be looking at swirled defective pieces, especially on the interior of the build. Unacceptable in a set at this price point.

Maybe I got unlucky, but in about half of my recent lego purchases, i have needed to contact Lego customer service. When I shouldn't have to do that.

If Lego really is the leading brand in the building block toys, and continues to price it's sets at premium prices. Then I have the right to expect nothing less than perfection.

And unfortunately, what I got here was not perfection.

Down vote me if you'd like, but this review is meant to urge Lego to improve in the future, and I hope they do. I purchased this set off the shelves at an official Lego store. Meaning this could be a potential indicator of the quality you might recieve with your next purchase of Lego
Good set, but has its flaws

It's neat to finally be getting a ghost again, but it's certainly not worth £150. Compared to something like the razor crest from 2020, I cannot see this warranting an extra £30 for a slightly worse build, and a significantly more flawed minifigure selection. But that's just one comparison. Another issue I have with this set, is the stickers. Not only are the majority of the stickers see through, which is a pain, but there are also loads. The ship is a lil inaccurate with the bottom loading area gone, and the lack of a turning turret, but it didn't really effect my experience. It is a lovely build, but it suffers severely from pricing and those awful stickers. I'll give it 4 stars because once you have it on display, neither the stickers or the price really effect how it looks overall.
