    Cools Down Our Living Room fast!
    My gf and I live in an old country home that was built in 1950 with no central heating or air made out of brick and the walls are lath and plaster so it can get quite hot inside during the summer. This house is a rental and it did come with an LG 14,000 BTU portable ac that was installed in our living room. With how hot it’s been in northern central California that portable ac just wasn’t cutting it. I ended up buying this Haier 14,000 BTU window ac to replace the portable one in our living room and man does this thing work great! The installation was simple and straightforward. I love how this unit can connect to wifi so I can keep the house at a comfortable temperature while we’re not home or out of town. It’s also really cool that the app monitors the power consumption. Having auto and eco mode is a great feature as well because the portable didn’t have either. This window unit is able to cool our 700sq ft living room in a matter of 20 minutes and will kick off automatically once the set temperature is reached. I’m honestly considering ditching our little 5,000 BTU window unit I put in our bedroom for a larger Haier unit so I can monitor tue temperature away from home in the app. Nonetheless, this Haier 14,000 BTU window unit works great and I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing to cool a large room

    EDIT : The front louvres ARE adjustable. I just missed it when I was looking. It's a great unit.

    My house is a bit of a stone oven with direct sun exposure all day, including the hot late afternoon/evenings when it comes pouring into my west facing windows. My house was built in the late 40s and I have not been able to update to central air yet. This thing is a life saver! I have a small portable unit in my bedroom and this 14,000 btu unit in my living room. Between the two, my entire house stays cool and comfortable. I have 1275 sq feet total. The living room, dining room and entryway make up one large room with a doorway connecting the kitchen on one side and a hallway leading to the bathroom and bedrooms on the other side. The cool air from this unit is able to keep my kitchen, guest bedroom and bathroom cool as well as the main living area. I do have to crank up the volume on my TV when it kicks on, but it’s much quieter than my portable unit and the wall unit I had in me previous apartment.
    This thing is a beast at 80 or so lbs. it’s definitely a two person install, but it sits securely in my window and it was one of the only larger sized units I could find that can run on a standard outlet. The wifi works great and was easy to set up. The remote stopped working after a week, but might just need new batteries. I’m
    Not that worried about it. The only thing I would change with this is the front louvres are not adjustable, so you can not direct the air flow. Where my unit is installed, it blows cold air directly at the sofa, so I have to cover up with a blanket if I’m sitting on the couch while the unit is running. I’ve only had it for about a month and a half or so. I’m also running the bedroom unit and a fan in the bedroom and my electric bill went up like $10, is all. It seems pretty efficient to me. I would definitely buy this brand again. I love this thing!

    Years ago I had this brand AC it was the best! Super heavy but so durable it cooled the whole house within 2 hours. It was dropped several times out the window..the back completly crushed...had the use a comb to straighted the grill back out...was stored out in rain and snow on a patio for several winters...and that unit lasted 14YEARS! I was extremely sad when it finally had to to to the dump... For the last 3 years I've bought several different brands because no where within an hour driving distance had this brand. And all of them have had to be on 24/7 and still didn't cool our house enough. Still 75 degrees. This year I decided to look online and found this brand again. I am so happy!!! We have to turn it off within a couple hours because our house is now cooled off again. After working in a hot kitchen all day its so nice to come into a cool house. Highly recommend the Haier ACs!

    Cons:

    - Exercise extreme caution when handling the unit, as the edges are sharp and can cause injuries. I accidentally cut myself on my wrist in three places while trying to install it.

    - The noise level is higher than what was advertised. Despite being less than a year old, the AC has become unbearably noisy.

    - The warranty is not honored as promised. While it states that the unit will be replaced within one year for any issues, there are significant limitations. They only offer reimbursement if you purchase from a local store, excluding taxes and shipment costs, which ultimately leaves you with out-of-pocket expenses.

    Pros:

    - The unit performs adequately when it's functioning properly. It provides a decent Wi-Fi connection. However, the additional cost of $200 for a "more premium product" is not justified given the overall performance and issues experienced.

    Additional Comments:

    It's disappointing that a company of such scale and resources produces an unreliable product and expects customers to bear the financial burden.

    Best a/c unit I have ever owned. It's not loud but it's not the most quiet a/c that is out there. The compressor is very quiet and the fan makes the most noise. I never could get it to connect with the wifi app but it runs 24 hours a day and is not needed. The air flow is so good that there aren't any hot spots in the room. My electric bill has gone down a little since putting it in. I run my a/c at 68 all day and sleep at 67 degrees. The room is around 215 square feet with a 60 square foot restroom for a total of 275 square foot area space. The remote is very handy with the large buttons. I like how the display fades out after a minute so the room isn't lit up keeping you awake all night. Another good feature is if the power goes out the a/c is suppose to come back on where it was set when power is restored.
