Frequently asked questions

Why can’t I see payment activity across all of my channels that are tied to the same AdSense account?

To see your payments, you must use one email address that has an Owner, Manager, or Editor role for all channels connected to the same AdSense account.

Your ability to see revenue in YouTube Studio also depends on your permissions. You need permission to view revenue for every channel you want to check.

You can review and update your role in Channel Permissions or Brand Account settings.

Why is there a difference between my estimated earnings and finalized payment?

Your estimated earnings are subject to adjustments until they’re finalized. Adjustments may include, but are not limited to:

This means there may be differences in your estimated earnings and your finalized payment.

Why is my payment for this month different from this month’s earnings?

Keep in mind that the AdSense for YouTube payment cycle is monthly. This means that earnings accrued in one month, are finalized and paid out the following month as long as you meet the payment threshold and your account doesn’t have any holds .
The earnings progress bar shows your current month's earnings and how close you are to meeting the payment threshold.
For example, let's say the payment threshold for your account is $100. If your balance reached $100 during January and there are no holds on your account, then we would pay out your January earnings, at the end of February. This means that your February payment is for your January earnings, and your February earnings are shown in the progress bar so you can view how close you are to the payment threshold.

What happens if I don’t meet the payment threshold?

If your earnings don’t reach the payment threshold by the end of the month, your earnings will roll over to the next month. Your earnings balance will continue to accrue until the payment threshold is met. You can view your progress towards the payment threshold with the earnings progress bar.

Why is there a difference between my earnings in YouTube Analytics vs. YouTube Studio?

There may be differences in the earnings amount shown in YouTube Studio versus YouTube Analytics, for various reasons including:
  • Data latency
  • Accrued earnings from previous months
For creators that aren’t paid in USD, there may also be differences due to the currency conversion rate and when it’s applied to your earnings.

If I change my AdSense for YouTube account, what happens to my payment activity?

If you change your AdSense for YouTube account, your payment activity will update to reflect the new AdSense for YouTube account. This change will also include any updates to the currency that you want to be paid in.

Bear in mind that when you change your AdSense for YouTube account:

  • Any historical payment data will no longer be available in the YouTube Studio app.
  • Any pending payments will be processed through your old AdSense for YouTube account and paid accordingly. Future payments will be processed through your new AdSense for YouTube account.
