This is St. Nicholas Cathedral in Kyiv , which stands on Velyka Vasylkivska street. The construction of the cathedral lasted for 10 years and was finished in 1909. To build it, an innovative material of that time – ferroconcrete, was applied. The style of the cathedral is neo-gothic. The project was designed by a student of the institute of civil engineers – Stanislav Valovskyi and then it was further developed by a renowned architect Władysław Horodecki. Kyiv owes a lot of its most iconic landmarks to the creative genius of Horodecki. Among them: House with Chimaeras , Karaite Kenesa and National Art Museum of Ukraine .
