Fossil of Click Beetle

There are more than 8,000 species known in the family Elateridae all over the world, among which more than 600 species are found in China . The clicking movement of the adults is a form of escape and an instinct to avoid danger and overcome obstacles. It is also used to transmit information and attract the opposite sex.
