A work titled, Giraffe done in 1995 by the San artist Kunyanda Shikamo (b. 1954). Shikamo was part of the Platfontein Art Group, a relocated community of !Xu and Khwe people displaced from Angola during the wars of the 1970s and 1980s. They were resettled at Platfontein near Schmidtsdrift outside Kimberley in South Africa and in the 1990s the community were resettled again at Wildebeest Kuil .The community consists of two San tribes, the !Xun and the Khwe. “The San of Platfontein” is a collective name used for both the !Xun and Khwe.
